Privacy and cookies

We are a small team, not an ad network. We collect the minimum we need to answer you, run this website and see which pages help. This page says exactly what that means.

Who we are

Trialsfocus is a web design and development practice that works with clinical research sites, CROs and biopharma companies. It is part of Woofocus Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. For UK GDPR purposes Woofocus Ltd is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at info@trialsfocus.com.

What we collect

  • When you book a call. Your name, email address and anything you type into the booking form, including a website address if you give one. This goes through Google Calendar Appointment Scheduling.
  • When you email us. Your address and the contents of your message.
  • When you use the Benchmark checklist. Which items you tick. This is stored only in your own browser and never sent to us.
  • When you browse. If you accept analytics cookies: pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and how you arrived. If you decline, we set nothing beyond what is needed to remember that choice.

We do not buy lists, we do not run retargeting pixels, and we never sell personal data. This website collects no health information about you or anyone else.

Why, and on what basis

  • To reply to you and run a project – on the basis of taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and then performing that contract.
  • To understand which pages help – on the basis of your consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
  • To keep the website up and secure – on the basis of our legitimate interest in a working, uncompromised website.

Cookies on this website

Analytics is off until you choose. Tags load in a denied state and only activate if you accept; the booking calendar is only embedded after you accept as well. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads; we are moving them to our own server.

Who else sees it

  • Google Ireland Ltd – Calendar Appointment Scheduling, Analytics and Tag Manager. Data may be processed outside the UK under the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • Our hosting and email providers – strictly to deliver the website and our correspondence.
  • Nobody else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects: 24 months, then deleted. Project records: seven years after the engagement ends, because HMRC requires it. Analytics: 13 months. Your cookie choice and Benchmark ticks live only in your own browser.

If you are in the United States

Most of the research sites we work with are in the US, so we treat state privacy rights the same way we treat UK ones. Whether you are in California, Virginia, Colorado or anywhere else, you can ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, and opt out of anything that looks like sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal data, and we run no cross-site advertising.

This website collects no protected health information. When a project involves patient-facing forms on your website, we use providers that sign a Business Associate Agreement and keep tracking off those pages; that is covered in each engagement, not here.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or take it elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting what came before. Email us and we will respond within one month.

If you are in the United States, the same requests are welcome and handled the same way. If you think we have got it wrong, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first.
